Should I get a dog?

Hi Everyone! Well, the reason i'm blogging is cause I have this nagging thing at the back of my mind!!!!!!!!!! And i'm going to go crazy!!!!!!!!!!
When I got rid of sally and sam, my old dogs... it was cause sally was jumping the fence and we had to have her tied up all the time, and sam well he was used to being with sally... so you get the idea. Plus, I didn't want a big dog with little kids.
I wasn't going to get a dog for ages, decided I'd wait a fair while. But... I am wanting to get a dog, cause makayla apsolutly LOVES them.. she goes crazy over animals. But I don't know if I should. Michael said no to start with, now he is saying yes... so I don't know what the crap to do. The type of dog I wanna get is a beagle. So it would only be small. It is going to cost us $550.00 cause that's how much they are, but I don't wanna get a smaller dog like a jack russel or anything. Then I have to worm it, vaxinate, wash it, walk it, desex it (unless we have puppies which would be cool...) anyways, blah blah u know the drill.. I need someone to give me some advice!! Tell me what to do!!! Alright... talk to u all later! Leave me some comments and advice... PLEASE!!!

I think getting another dog is a good idea.
But make sure that this is the time in your life where you can be financial enough to spend 550 on a dog.
The breed of our dogs are very important especially their temperament with children etc...

Well whilst I love dogs - are you sure you will have the time for a puppy/dog adjusting to the household when you're going to have a new baby as well as a very active toddler on your hands? Puppies are almost as demanding as a new baby.
Let alone the cost - as you know it's not just the initial purchase price it's all the vet stuff, then the feeding costs, etc.
I'd read a bit more about beagle breed - we looked into them when considering what sort to get but from memory said might get snappy or not have enough patience with kids, but then others say different, guess it's how they're raised at the end of the day.
Does any of your friends have dogs or your parents dogs you can maybe borrow for a walk each week or couple times a week for your doggy fix? Or maybe wait until bub's no2 is all settled in - to see if you've got enough time for a dog too.
I don't know at the end of the day it's your choice but if I was you I'd wait a bit.
You still planning on coming down to visit????

Just was at the olds for dinner, said you were thinking of getting a beagle - mum reminded me of our neighbours at Peaky Sth that bred beagles - and that they were amazing escape artists - as it's in them to sniff things out. Just another thought on that breed.
